On Saturday, September 30, 2023, the SSS Sigma Beta Club (SBC) celebrated its 5th Rites of Passage Induction Ceremony, warmly welcoming six new Sigma Betas into our esteemed club. The ceremony was nothing short of a resounding success!
We were privileged to have Yeoman Second Class Omar Hedgespeth of the US Navy as our guest speaker. His inspirational message left an indelible mark on both the new inductees and our existing Sigma Betas, setting a profound tone for the day’s events.
In recognition of their outstanding contributions, we proudly awarded Bro Derrick Simmons the Advisor of the Year for the years 2021 and 2022. His unwavering dedication and commitment to the club during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic have been truly commendable.
Furthermore, we celebrated the exceptional commitment of Ethan, who was honored as the Sigma Beta of the Year for 2021. His dedication to the program during the pandemic exemplified the spirit of our organization.
In addition, we recognized Sigma Beta Miles as the Sigma Beta of the Year for 2022. Miles demonstrated remarkable dedication to community service in a year when our club faced limitations on service events due to COVID-19 policies.
